Specialty Programs

Memory Loss/Dementia/Alzheimer’s

Those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and dementia can live a better quality of life if they receive the proper care. It is important to notice the symptoms early so you can ensure your loved ones immediately get the treatment they need. Make sure you look out for the following symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia:

  • Forgetfulness: Lapses in memory are noticeable symptoms of Alzheimer’s and dementia. It could be a normal sign of aging but if they become more consistent, this is likely an early sign of dementia.
  • Wandering: Those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia can begin wandering. This can be dangerous if they become lost or manage to leave the home.
  • Agitation: Individuals affected may become frustrated by their increasing limitations and lead to angry outbursts and mood swings.
  • Incontinence: In the later stages, those affected with memory lapses lose control of their bodies.

Our dementia caregivers can respond to and counteract these symptoms of dementia to help calm agitation and mood swings and ensure that your loved ones are safe as they move around the home.

Fall Prevention Program

Falls are a normal part of life yet we all know they can be life-altering events. Falls are especially devastating among seniors as they are a leading cause of hospitalization due to injury and a major reason for admission to a residential care facility. Falls can itself affect our lives and we should begin to avoid those accidents. Lovebird HomeCare provides a program around your doctor that shows benefits for preventing falls, improving balance and strength, and increasing mobility.

Wellness is a multi-dimensional concept consisting of the following dimensions:

  • Social – interacting with others for mutual benefit; awareness of the larger community and participating in it
  • Emotional – coping, managing, and directing feelings, and behaving in trustworthy and respectful ways
  • Intellectual – creative pursuits, intellectually stimulating activities, problem-solving, and reasoning
  • Spiritual – living with meaning and purpose in life and exploring beliefs that create personal peace
  • Vocational – maintaining or improving skills, abilities, and attitudes that help you be productive and satisfied in the work
  • Environmental – respecting nature and using the environment in ways that contribute to a healthier planet

Types of Clients We Serve

Lovebird HomeCare offers three levels of care on a contractual basis with either a set visitation schedule or an on-call respite care service, relieving a senior loved one for the requested amount of time. To ensure each elderly client gets the attention they need and feels comfortable during the entire service, the caregiver will be carefully selected for compatibility. Some of our services are listed below, but you can give us a call for a customized care plan.

There are an estimated 76 million veterans in the baby boomer generation who have served in the armed forces at some point in their lives. As former servicemen and women, retired veterans can qualify for Veterans Affairs (VA) programs when it comes to home health care. Lovebird HomeCare is an approved provider. This allows us to provide home health care and respite care services for veterans of the armed forces and their spouses. If your elderly relatives are veterans and in need of home health care services, talk to our professionals about our VA programs.
